Member Information

We offer a Free Trial Membership with one of the three scales (N, HO, ON30) for those interested in full membership. It is a time to get to know each other and see if there is a mutual fit. This period can last for up to 3 months until a decision is made whether to apply for full membership. It can be terminated at any time if proven to be unsatisfactory. Regular participation is important during this timeframe - we need enthusiastic members who want to contribute to the club's and scales' activities.

Dues for Full Membership are currently $90 per year for Seniors (over 18) and Families (up to 2 adults and 4 children U18 living in the same household). This includes dues for a BDMRC voting membership with the privileges noted above and full access to our Clubrooms. Come down any time to run your trains or work on the layout!

The best way to learn about BDMRC is to visit us on one of our work nights, held every Wednesday night from 7.30 pm till late. Talk to the people building and working the layouts and see how you might fit in. We need people of all skill levels, from absolute beginners to experienced modellers.

Member Library

The library was established 7 years ago to preserve magazines and books which have been purchased by the Club and donated by members. In our collection there is a variety of magazines from Australia and overseas which are shelved in country category, Australian, American and English.

Currently members can read and copy any material, but not remove any books or magazines from the library. Books/magazines that are donated and we have multiple copies are then sold through the club or at our annual exhibition.
